Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in pharmacy operations to achieve business objectives
  • The Pharmacist accurately reviews and interprets medication orders; prepares accurate and complete patient profiles
  • Reviews profiles for correct drug, dosage and route of administration
  • Ensures that no adverse drug duplication or drug-drug interaction exists; ensures that patient allergies are reviewed with respect to any medications prescribed
  • Efficiently perform other professional duties including, but not limited to, safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution and control of all drugs
  • Maintain inventory levels to company goals, rotates stock, complies with recalls, and utilizes return process
  • Maintains all state and federal record keeping for legend drugs and controlled substances
  • Demonstrates proper performance of skills reflected and validated by the Pharmacist competency checklist.
  • Interprets, clarifies and transcribes all medication orders accurately and timely. Monitors medication orders and reviews patient profile to ensure appropriate drug selection and dosage (no drug duplication, interactions or allergies). Prepares and labels all drugs accurately and timely.
  • Provides accurate, adequate and timely drug information to the professional staff and to patients and their families.
  • Supports the formulary development process by consulting with medical staff and promoting rational drug therapy selection
  • Follows established procedures for drug procurement, storage and distribution, including maintenance of controlled substance records as required by appropriate legislative/regulatory authorities
  • To coordinate pharmacy schedule; assist with direction and monitoring of pharmacy personnel and performance
  • Ensures the pharmacy computer system is properly maintained and updated of drugs and compounded items
  • Focus on customer satisfaction and needs, ensuring that customers are provided superior through use of best practices and prompt communication with physicians, vendors, and colleagues
  • Helping to create and maintain positive Pharmacy –Physician relationships, as well as the customers
  • Trains and manages personnel as required. Makes decisions regarding hiring, promotions, salary adjustments and disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Performs staff pharmacist or technician duties when needed.
  • Designs, implements and evaluates methods to improve quality, extent and efficiency of pharmacy services
  • Must have managerial experience, personnel management, financial management, ability to analyze financial reports and data
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to complete work with a minimum of supervision under tight time frames
  • Must be able to work a variety of schedules to include long hours and evenings
  • Must be organized & able to prioritize workload and meet reporting deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and pharmacy-related software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required

Specific Pharmacist in Charge requirements:

  • Area: Must be able to work in the Arizona area
  • Licensure Requirements: Must have valid, open and active Arizona license.
  • Education: Pharm.D.
  • Years of Experience: 2 + years in recent Pharmacist in Charge experience in a retail setting
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-Hour Shift between the hours of 7a-7p, Weekdays
  • Length of Assignment: Direct Hire
  • Pay: Depending on Experience
  • Background/ Drug Requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check.
