Closed Door Pharmacy Technician

 

Job Responsibilities

As a Closed Door Pharmacy Technician you will be responsible for maintaining productivity and quality standards as well as legal and company compliance and track and triage all coverage determination requests for approvals. Our Closed Door Pharmacy is responsible for multiple Pharmacy areas, including filling prescriptions, high volume data entry, and call center for prior authorizations and insurance verifications.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive inbound calls from patients needing assistance with new prescriptions, general questions or concerns.
  • Make outbound calls to patients and/or physicians to verify and confirm patient and prescription information.
  • Accurately and completely performs data entry for new patients, new orders and changes.
  • Entering prescriptions and verifying appropriate information.
  • Selects drugs from stock for preparation: counts, pharmaceuticals; places pharmaceutical products in appropriate containers and affixes labels to containers; packages and repackages pharmaceuticals for patient.
  • Receives prescriptions and obtains information to determine insurance eligibility; using a computerized system, enters prescription data to create a patient profile.
  • Maintain accountability for day-to-day patient reimbursement activities, workload and overall workflow.
  • Work with physician offices and other Pharmacy retail locations to facilitate the process of obtaining prior authorization from third party payers in order to maximize patients’ access to treatment.
  • Monitor, follow-up with and record all insurance re-authorizations required by payers to help ensure compliance and continuity of treatment.
  • Helps to maintain the pharmacy in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all patients and medical professionals.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of protected health information.
  • May be assigned to prepare and track delivery instructions to assist delivery staff and common carriers responsible for home or office delivery

Specific Filling Pharmacy Technician requirements:

  • Area: Must be able to work in the Florida area
  • Licensure Requirements: Must have valid, open and active Florida license.
  • Education: H.S Diploma
  • Years of Experience: 1-year experience in Call Center, Filling, Data Entry, Retail, Specialty, PBM
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 hours shift between the hours of 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Weekdays, Full – Time
  • Length of Assignment: Temporary On-going
  • Pay: $14 - $16 Depending on license and experience
  • Background/ Drug Requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check and drug screen
